We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Technical Business Analyst / Product Owner to lead the design, delivery, and maintenance of internal-facing applications that support The Walt Disney Studios. The successful candidate will build a deep understanding of current and future technologies used by the Studio businesses, serve as an expert for both Studio Technology and business partners, and act as the bridge between development teams and business stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with strategic goals and user needs.
Key Responsibilities- In close partnership with the Manager and business stakeholders, develop the product vision and roadmap for internal full‑stack applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, UX designers, and QA to deliver high‑quality solutions on time and within scope.
- Engage with business clients or other product teams within the organization to gather requirements, define use cases, and translate needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization activities; define, groom, and accept user stories based on stakeholder requests.
- Document and maintain data flow diagrams, UML diagrams, and other technical artifacts to support development and stakeholder understanding.
- Analyze and interpret data using moderate SQL skills to support decision‑making and ad hoc queries.
- Partner with infrastructure and data engineering teams to support integration with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and traditional SQL databases.
- Monitor product KPIs and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate all successes, opportunities, and risks in formal communications.
- Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of experience in business analysis or product ownership within software development environments.
- 5+ years of experience using Agile SCRUM methodology with a proven track record managing full‑stack application delivery in an Agile setting.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, SQL databases, etc.) and proficiency in SQL for querying and data validation.
- Familiarity with UML and data flow diagramming tools such as Lucidchart or Visio.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Experience in enterprise environments with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience using BI tools (Micro Strategy, Power
BI, Tableau, etc.). - Familiarity with AI tools and concepts, including prompt engineering.
- Certified Agile Product Owner a plus.
- Knowledge of film production lifecycle preferred; experience within studios preferred.
- BA/BS degree required.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $97,500.00 – $ per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may also be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
