POSITION SUMMARY
Support the Southern California Conference (“SCC”) in accomplishing its mission, “to exalt Christ by cultivating healthy churches and schools and embody its values of integrity with transparency, engagement, stewardship, unity in diversity, and relationships and team.
Provide strategic, operational, spiritual, and fiduciary leadership to the department. Be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and supervising a comprehensive program of charitable gift and estate planning services in accordance with the North American Division (NAD) Working Policy, General Conference (GC) policy, and applicable federal and state legal requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job, the individual
- Must perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily, and
- Be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing, and
- This position requires occasional travel for local meetings, events, and training sessions, including some training outside of California.
- Meet the requirements listed below.
- Undergraduate degree (Business Administration, Law, Finance, Theology, or related field) from a recognized college or university is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in trust services and planned giving or related field or a combination of academic qualifications and relevant work experience.
- At least three years in supervising or leadership role.
- Experience with in the Seventh-day Adventist church structure is highly preferred.
- Strategic-thinking skills.
- Results-oriented in leading and motivating others, and in setting goals.
- High level of emotional and social intelligence.
- High level of accountability.
- Understanding of business, legal and financial aspects.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, delegate, and oversee multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Build relationships and ability to relate to diverse peoples and cultures.
- Operational knowledge of the Seventh-day Adventist Church structure and policies.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and internet search engines.
- Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
