About the OpportunityThe IRC in Los Angeles provides job readiness, digital literacy, and financial literacy training to newcomers and clients with work authorization. The Employment Training Panel aims to help refugees achieve self-sufficiency through employment, retaining jobs for over 90 days or 500 hours. Volunteers will assist the Workforce Literacy Program Specialist in managing the panel and supporting clients to secure their first jobs in the U.S. on a 1:1 basis.
Responsibilities- Gain experience in coaching, outreach, and resume writing.
- Learn effective communication across cultures.
- Develop skills in PowerPoint and lesson planning.
- Language proficiency in English plus Armenian, Russian/Ukrainian, Spanish, or Farsi.
- Strong communication, writing, and cross-cultural skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Experience in tutoring or coaching related to employment services.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills and computer literacy.
