Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and mixing & blending equipment used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications.
The Accounting Associate-Accounts Receivable is responsible for manning the day-to-day accounts receivable function while providing dependable accounting support to the Accounting Manager and Cost Accountant. This role requires strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manager recurring responsibilities and deadlines. This position is well-suited for someone who values consistency, accuracy, and ownership of their work.
Duties/Responsibilities- Accounts Receivable
- Own the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, cash application, and customer account maintenance.
- Maintain accurate A/R aging schedules and follow up consistently on past-due balances.
- Communicate professionally and persistently with customers to resolve payment issues.
- Review customer accounts and exercise judgement in releasing orders once credit issues have been resolved.
- Provide timely and accurate customer credit references.
- Maintain complete and well-documented customer account records.
- Accounting & Operations Support
- Assist with inventory data entry related to physical inventory counts.
- Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide back-up support for accounts payable to ensure continuity during absences.
- Assist with month-end close activities and recurring accounting tasks.
- Support special projects requiring accuracy, discretion, and follow-through.
- Invoices are issued accurately and on time with minimal corrections.
- Customer payments are applied promptly and discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
- Past-due balances are actively managed and do not linger without follow-up.
- Reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
- The accounting team can rely on this role to manage responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
- Ability to manage routine, deadline-driven work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
