American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift contract requiring med/surg flexibility and at least 2 years of L&D experience.
Requirements- Active MT or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS and FHM certifications preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency care, including dysrhythmia interpretation
- Proficient in use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
- Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and managing postpartum hemorrhage
- Experience with fundus, lochia, and perineum care
- Skilled in foley catheter insertion and management
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- May be floated to med/surg when census does not require labor or postpartum coverage
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- 13-week contract assignment
- Cerner EMR used in the hospital, PCC used in LTC areas
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Support high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, and newborn care including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
- Care for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor
- Provide discharge teaching and breastfeeding support to new parents
- Travel pairs accepted
- Hospital housing available
