Overview

Assistant Manager

Responsibilities
  • Operate all equipment, stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler, and prepare all products.
  • Use all proprietary technology and receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Orientation to new hires and on‑the‑job training for all other employees on store products and procedures.
  • Responsible for inventory counts and for making the schedule and staffing the store.
  • Responsible for running food and labor while in charge of their shift.
  • Maintain good communication to lead an effective team and to give correct written and verbal instructions to customers and co‑workers.
Essential Functions / Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator). Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately, and ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some areas; sudden changes in temperature.
  • Fumes from food odors; exposure to cornmeal dust; cramped quarters including walk-in cooler.
  • Hot surfaces/tools up to 500 degrees or higher; sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing
  • Talking and hearing on the telephone; near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Temperaments
  • Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Physical Demands
  • Standing
    :
    Most tasks performed standing; walking surfaces vary; work surfaces height between 36” and 48”.
  • Walking
    :
    Short-distance walking; delivery personnel travel between store and vehicle and to customer locations.
  • Sitting
    :
    Paperwork completed in an office.
  • Lifting
    :
    Deliveries may weigh up to 50 pounds; cases lifted from floor to shelves up to 72”; some items such as 30‑pound pizza sauce carried from storage to front of store; pizza dough trays weigh ~12 pounds per tray (three at a time).
  • Carrying
    :
    Large cans weighing ~3 lb 7 oz; pizzas, sides, beverages during delivery; pizzas on delivery routes.
  • Driving
    :
    Deliver pizzas within designated area; multiple deliveries per shift possible.
  • Pushing
    :
    Pushing/pulling trays on dollies; typical stack ~24”–30” high; force up to 7.5 pounds.
  • Climbing
    :
    Infrequent; navigate stairs or ladders to change prices, wash walls, or perform maintenance; up to five flights during delivery in some cases.
  • Stooping/Bending
    :
    Forward bending at waist at pizza assembly; occasional at front counter when stocking ingredients (approx. 40–45 seconds at a time).
  • Crouching/Squatting
    :
    Occasional to stock shelves and clean low areas.
  • Reaching
    :
    Continuous reaching up, down, and forward; occasional above 72” to operate ovens or change prices; reaching to scoop cornmeal or clean surfaces; reaching to obtain toppings.
  • Hand Tasks
    :
    Continuous eye-hand coordination; pizza dough shaping; use of pizza peel and rolling cutter; frequent pinching to assemble boxes; grasping cans, phones, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and boxes.
  • Machines & Tools
    :
    Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD, pizza cutter, and pizza peel as needed.
Technology
  • All employees must use Domino’s technology implemented by the company:
    Driver app for drivers;
    Digital Shoulder Surf (DSS) for CSRs;
    Domino’s Car Side Delivery for all employees.
