We have an exciting opportunity for a Library Assistant to join the team within the Templehall Cluster. The post is based at Cadham Library which is a single-staffed library located in the Glenrothes area. The post is for 28.5 hours per week, spread over 5 days and includes evening and weekend working. This is a fixed-term contract ending February 2028.

You will undertake duties relating to the operations of the library; providing direct customer engagement and support; carrying out administration and support tasks and participating in the promotion and delivery of a range of community focused events and activities.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who puts the customer first and strives to provide excellent experience to customers and visitors. The successful candidate will enjoy supporting people of all ages and backgrounds with digital skills, promoting reading for pleasure and responding to requests for information. They should have good IT skills and ideally have an interest in books and reading.

They should demonstrate good organizational skills, a positive attitude to work and to change and be able to work independently, as well as part of a team. We are looking for a flexible approach and an understanding that, on occasion and with reasonable notice, there will be a requirement to work at another venue or change your work pattern. Access to transport is also essential, as travel throughout the region may be required.
