Overview
Electronics Test Technician Frontier Resourcing are supporting a global aerospace and defence organisation in the search for an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join their team near Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly advanced manufacturing and engineering environment, supporting the testing, diagnostics, and repair of complex electronic systems used in cutting‑edge aerospace applications. Working on a rotating shift basis, you will be responsible for the functional testing, tuning, fault diagnosis, and repair of electronic assemblies and products, while supporting continuous improvement across the test environment.
Responsibilities- Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies to contractual, quality, and schedule requirements
- Carry out diagnostics and fault‑finding to component level on production and repair units
- Recommend and support corrective actions on failed products
- Diagnose faults associated with automated and manual test equipment
- Execute preventative maintenance and calibration activities for test equipment
- Maintain accurate test documentation, yield data, and failure reporting
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance within the test environment
- Work collaboratively with wider engineering and production teams
- Minimum HNC in Electronics or equivalent hands‑on industry experience
- Experience testing and diagnosing complex electronic products down to component level
- Ability to tune circuitry to achieve performance specifications
- Proven experience using laboratory and production test equipment, including complex instrumentation
- Strong understanding of electronic principles and circuitry, both theoretical and practical
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams effectively
- Experience interpreting test specifications and carrying out manual production test and debug activities
- Understanding of RF circuitry principles and associated controls
- Experience working with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

This is a fully onsite position based within a laboratory environment near Edinburgh. The role operates on a rotating 3x12-hour shift pattern covering both days and nights.
