FTV Proclad International Ltd is a worldwide market and technological leader in the protective weld cladding of pipeline components. We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Software Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

Job Details
  • Full-time – 37 hours per week.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications following secure and scalable engineering practices.
  • Use Visual Studio Code as a primary development environment for coding, debugging, and testing software components.
  • Assist in building and integrating Copilot plugins and agents, contributing to AI-driven automation and workflow enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality and IT.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and sprint ceremonies.
  • Write clean, testable, well‑documented code following company standards.
  • Support the team in investigating, troubleshooting and resolving software issues.
  • Continuously learn new technologies, frameworks and tools relevant to the role.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles, algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience using Visual Studio Code for development projects.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Type Script, Python, C# or similar).
  • Understanding of REST APIs, JSON and modern web services.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented, agile environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to or interest in developing Microsoft Copilot plugins or agents, including working with REST APIs and AI‑augmented workflows.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 development tools, Power Platform or Microsoft Graph.
  • Experience with source‑control systems.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

The candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team and on their own using their own initiative. They must be flexible wherever possible to meet company and customer requirements, and must be able to communicate effectively with customers, customers' representatives, external inspection authorities and all levels of the organisation.
