We’re seeking a Process Engineering Specialist to join our Pittsburgh manufacturing team in Glenshaw, PA. This role supports day-to-day process engineering operations and collaborates across departments to drive innovation, efficiency, and quality throughout our production floor. You’ll be working at the intersection of design and manufacturing — where creativity meets precision.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience

3–4 years in a manufacturing environment

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with the Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams to design and develop fixtures, tooling, and ergonomic solutions that enhance quality, speed, and repeatability.
  • Support facility improvements — from lighting, transportation rigs, and racking systems to integration of new equipment and layouts.
  • Partner directly with shop-floor teams to implement and validate process improvements in real time.
  • Manage internal job orders and documentation related to assigned projects and improvements.
  • Perform data extraction and analysis from the ERP system and time studies to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
  • Apply and promote Lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–4 years of experience in process improvement, fixture/tool design, or related engineering support within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong proficiency in Solid Works and AutoCAD for 2D/3D modeling and design detailing.
  • Understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing processes.
  • Technical aptitude for concept design, material selection, and hardware/fastener specification.
  • Experience with reverse engineering or replicating failed or legacy components.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to translate ideas between engineering, production, and leadership teams.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Solid Modeling & Design Detailing:
    Proficient in creating precise 2D and 3D models for fabrication and assembly. (Solid Works Preferred)
  • Process Analysis & Optimization:
    Identify inefficiencies through data, time studies, and workflow observation.
  • Fixture & Tooling Design:
    Develop jigs, fixtures, and ergonomic aids that improve repeatability and operator comfort.
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement:
    Knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, and waste reduction techniques in a production environment.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge:
    Understanding of fabrication processes including laser cutting, forming, welding, and finishing.
  • ERP Data Analysis:
    Ability to extract and interpret production data to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Communication:
    Produce clear drawings, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Work with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver results.
  • Hands-On Mentality:
    Willingness to be on the floor testing, prototyping, and implementing solutions directly.
  • Creative Problem Solving:
    Balance efficiency and craftsmanship with analytical thinking and inventive design sensibility.
