Schedule:
This is a temporary, nonexempt position expected to begin in November 2025 and last until November 2026. This position offers up to 32 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday. This position requires availability during programming hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with some evening and weekend availability required. Times are subject to change based on programming needs.
Hourly Range: $20.00 – $25.00, based on qualifications and previous related work experience.

Valley Settlement uses a two-generation approach to improve early childhood education and provide families with the support they need to thrive. We focus on serving the Latino/a community through a varied network of six programs, each designed to meet different community needs.
The Early Childhood Program Aide position provides essential support across all of Valley Settlements’ Early Childhood programs by assisting during class times and participating in events or activities as needed. The Aide works closely with teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environment for young children and to support the families enrolled in Valley Settlement programming.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning
- Classroom set up for daily learning activities.
- Organizes and completes inventory of program materials
- Ensure program spaces are well-maintained and safe for participants
- Support in new student and family enrollment and recruitment through various sources, including door-knocking or other methods.
- Participates in required trainings and/or certification processes when applicable.
Enrollment
- Complete the registration process for new and returning participants through home visits or in-person meetings.
- Upload and update participant information in the program’s data tracking system.
- Maintain the program waitlist following the common established process.
Family Engagement & Education
- Respond appropriately to family needs and make referrals as needed to the Family Support Team.
- Participate in planning, organizing, and facilitating family engagement events.
- Communicate any important observations about children’s families to program teachers and educators.
- Build trusting relationships with families in our community
- Support in sharing community resources with program participants
Implementation
- Ensures constant supervision and safety for all children.
- Follow the established policies and procedures of the program
- Adapts and follows the daily routines to meet the interests and needs of each class.
- When needed, responsible for the travel of the mobile program vehicles. This includes completing pre- and post-trip checks, refilling fuel and fluids, tracking mileage, and submitting maintenance work forms to the designated maintenance department when required.
- Complete work reports per the program’s established schedule.
- Follows organizational home visiting practices and protocols
- Ensure timely and effective communication with the program’s supervisor when programming updates, challenges, or changes occur.
- Must be able to travel to meet the participant in the field (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Create and maintain an environment that fosters learning and promotes a sense of belonging.
- Support the entry of participants’ daily attendance in the tracking system
- Save and keep program-related documents up to date in the program’s shared drive.
