Adjunct Faculty, Non-Credit, Community Education

We are seeking an experienced educator to teach community and continuing education courses in a dynamic, student‑focused environment.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

An equivalent or applicable combination of education and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, with prior teaching in continuing education or community education.

Compensation

Pay is based on Pay Levels 1‑5, ranging from $20 to $60 per hour, determined by campus supervisor based on expertise and evidence of instructional excellence.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Essential Duties

  • Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include teaching course load as assigned.
  • To teach classes as assigned by designated supervisor.
  • To prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course outcomes.
  • To develop a professional relationship with students and staff that encourages teacher/student communication.
  • To assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate.
  • When agreed upon, and as appropriate, to assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
  • To represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
  • To complete all required annual CMC training courses (e.g., Title IX, Digital Accessibility, Data Security and Privacy).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Relevant teaching experience in continuing or community education settings.

Supervision of the Position

This position will report to the campus non‑credit Community Education coordinator or campus designee.

Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, driving; occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason, analyze, and perform occasional calculations. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
