- $54,000 to $82,320 (based on education and years of experience). The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE
1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly. - Credentialed experience outside the District or U.S. may be considered in salary placement. - Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, school counselors promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students.
- Designs and delivers comprehensive counseling services and instruction aligned with the school curriculum, addressing student needs across content areas. Develops strong rapport with students to identify challenges and barriers that affect their academic and personal success.
- Leads and supports the integration of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) across the school, facilitating one-on-one sessions, small group activities, and whole-class support.
- Responds to student mental health crises by providing educational resources, prevention strategies, and short‑term counseling. Refers students to appropriate community resources when necessary.
- Adheres to all legal and professional requirements, ensuring compliance with educational law, district policies, and procedures. This includes but is not limited to managing 504 plans, RtI, MTSS, concurrent enrollment, and graduation requirements.
- Fosters meaningful relationships by prioritizing interventions that ensure every student is supported by a caring, positive adult figure.
- Ensures staff are trained on mandatory reporting procedures and works collaboratively with social services during student and family investigations. May be called upon to testify in court regarding school‑related matters.
- Integrates evidence‑based counseling practices and research into school programs to improve student outcomes.
- Utilizes knowledge of local resources and community services to assist students. Adapts services based on an understanding of students' home environments, communities, and school context.
