SUMMARY

Responsible for instructing secondary level students in appropriate subject areas in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of District and state content standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students’ assignments and assessments.
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one situations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions.
  • Use oral and written communication skills; bilingual communication skills preferred.
  • Work supportively with other teachers, staff, and administrators to provide an effective learning environment.
  • Communicate with students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members.

  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
  • Design individualized programs of instruction for students.
  • Prepare classroom materials and curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans and learning activities.
  • Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use the data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction.
  • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
  • Support all Garfield County School District 16 policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal relations skills.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Operate with knowledge of and experience with typical educational/instructional technology equipment and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
  • Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.

Responsible for supervising the behavior and well‑being of students in the classroom, getting on and off the bus, at recess, lunch, and to and from classes.

RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY
