Job Summary

Responsible for instructing elementary level students in music, in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of District and state content standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities.
  • Design assessment tasks, interpret student data, and modify instruction accordingly.
  • Monitor student growth, maintain documentation, and adapt support as needed.
  • Support all Garfield County School District 16 policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity and supervise student behavior and well‑being.
  • Communicate students’ progress and needs to parents/guardians and staff.
  • Participate in professional growth opportunities, team meetings, and district discussions.
  • Provide personal and professional excellence, promoting inclusivity and collaboration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
  • Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
  • Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
  • Math and accounting skills.
Other Requirements
  • Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • Ability to work supportively with teachers, staff, and administrators to provide an effective learning environment.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members.
  • Commitment to student diversity, family engagement, and professional excellence.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and reporting unsafe conditions.

Principal

Budget and Resource Responsibility

Assist with planning and monitoring classroom/department budget.
