Primary Responsibility
The adjunct faculty members of Colorado Mountain College are here to assist students in their learning process by utilizing all appropriate staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available which complement the teaching process. The faculty members need to be committed to facilitating learning throughout our communities. Although teaching is the most important role of the faculty, the needs of our learners are also served when faculty are engaged in scholarly endeavors as well as service activities.
The college seeks innovative facilitators of learning who are active in the art of teaching and passionate about extending academic opportunities to all students. Colorado Mountain College offers associate and bachelor's degrees with a focus on positive classroom experiences and excellent outcomes for all students. CMC does not conduct research but instead emphasizes excellence in teaching and learning in diverse classroom settings and programs.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for dynamic classroom experiences and excellent academic opportunities and student support.

Essential Duties
The responsibilities include teaching courses as assigned, evaluating student learning, developing course outlines and syllabi, maintaining office hours, developing rapport with students, assisting with advising and registration, engaging in scholarly activities, participating in service activities, and representing the college professionally.
- Prepare and deliver lessons aligned with course objectives.
- Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi.
- Maintain accurate student records and be available for student consultations.
- Assist in curriculum development and evaluation.
- Represent the college positively in the community.
- Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
Supervision of the Position
Reports to the Assistant Dean of Instruction or designee. May supervise student employees.
Special Conditions of Employment
Successful background checks are required. May involve travel, evening, and weekend hours.
Working Conditions
Includes sitting, walking, standing, driving, handling objects, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and frequent communication. Work primarily performed using a computer and standard office equipment.
