Job Description
The Colorado Mountain College adjunct faculty members assist students in their learning process by utilizing staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies that complement the teaching process. Faculty commit to facilitating learning throughout the community. While teaching is the primary role, faculty also serve learners through scholarly endeavors and service activities.
The college seeks innovative facilitators passionate about extending academic opportunities to all students. CMC offers associate and bachelor’s degrees, focusing on positive classroom experiences and excellent outcomes. It does not conduct research, focusing instead on excellence in teaching and learning in diverse classroom settings and programs.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for dynamic classroom experiences, excellent academic opportunities, and student support.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses and prepare lesson plans aligned with approved objectives.
- Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi, and maintain accurate course records.
- Maintain office hours, assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
- Engage in scholarly, creative, and service activities that enhance discipline expertise and learning.
- Participate in campus and college committees, relevant projects, and student organization efforts.
- Consult with students, assist with recruitment, and evaluate curriculum and instructional performance.
- Represent the college professionally and promote a positive public image; engage in professional development as required.
- Credentialed to teach in the specific program or eligible to be credentialed.
- A minimum master’s degree in the specific field or a master’s with at least 18 graduate credits in a related field.
- One year full‑time teaching experience, or equivalent as an adjunct instructor; higher‑education teaching preferred.
- Strong background in computers and technology, excellent organizational, office, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
- Bilingual English/Spanish or conversational language abilities.
This position requires the employee to be a resident of the State of Colorado and perform all work duties within the state. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and requires authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Successful completion of a background check is required.
