We are looking for someone who is patient, energetic, works well with a team, has a great sense of humor, and is qualified as an early childhood teacher through the Department of Human Services.
Supervision- Receives direct supervision from the Early Childhood Director.
- May receive guidance from the Early Childhood Special Educator.
- Provides coaching or training to paraprofessionals as needed.
- Provide careful and effective supervision of individual and groups of children, on and off campus.
- Maintain and oversee a positive, developmentally appropriate, organized, and creative learning environment.
- Work with individual students and small groups of students.
- Encourage proper behavior and maintain children’s safety through the implementation of the approved behavior guidance plan.
- Maintain records, including attendance.
- Maintain classroom environment in a sanitary, neat and orderly manner.
- Assist with snacks and other meals as appropriate, including maintaining a clean environment for snacks and meals.
- Attend to the physical needs of the children (feeding, toileting, resting, etc.).
- Perform routine clerical tasks as needed or assigned.
- Communicate positively and appropriately with parents regarding their child in relation to the early childhood program.
- Assist with parent teacher conferences.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship with school staff.
- Assure the health and safety of children by following health and safety practices and regulations.
- Provide first aid and health-related services as needed.
- Collect and input data for the Creative Curriculum GOLD program for all students on IEPs or in CPP, as well as for tuition‑paying four‑year‑olds; data is then used to monitor student progress and guide lesson design and classroom activities to help children meet the CO State Preschool Standards.
- Attend required continuing education classes and adhere to guidelines set by the District and the Colorado Department of Human Services.

- Developmental and behavioral characteristics of students with special needs
- Basic methods used in overseeing and directing student's activities in a variety of age‑appropriate settings
- Positive guidance and classroom management techniques
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
- CPR / First Aid / Universal Precautions / Medication Administration training
- Modern office procedures and methods
- Supervise a variety of student groups in a variety of settings
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Operate and use modern office equipment
- Communicate with Spanish‑speaking families
- Provide specialized enrichment opportunities for students
- Work independently and with a minimum of direction
- Maintain a professional appearance while at work
- Interact with children in a way that is both nurturing and respectful
Hourly range: $22.35 - $27.69 per hour, depending on qualified experience.
Days worked:
Monday - Friday (252 days/year).
