Description

Schedule is working 4-10's, during the week. No Holidays, No Weekends, No Call!

  • As a member of the radiation oncology team, administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of anatomy and physiology pathology, medical terminology, oncology, radio biology, radiation physics, radiation oncology techniques, radiation safety and the psychosocial aspects of cancer toward the end.

The Calaway
• Young Cancer Center offers the following radiation treatments:

  • CT radiation therapy planning
  • Electron Beam external radiation
  • Photon external radiation
  • HDR (high dose rate) brachytherapy
  • LDR (low dose rate) brachytherapy/seed implantation
  • Orthovoltage superficial (skin cancer) external radiation
  • Optune® cap for a type of brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)
  • Vision RT
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery
  • SBRT (stereotactic body radiosurgery)

Education:

  • Successful completion of a radiation therapy training program, R.T. (T) certification and maintaining certification.

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in the area of Radiation Oncology is preferred. We are considering all levels of experience for this position.
  • Experience with Treatment Simulation is a strong plus!

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy
  • Ability to interpret and deliver treatments per plans and relevant treatment protocols
  • Experience with modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems and electronic medical records
  • Experience with the following techniques required:
    Breath Hold, SRS and SBRT, Superficial and HDR
  • Working knowledge of Mosaiq highly preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
