Job DetailsThe store manager leads Mattress Firm's vision, company initiatives, and sales performance goals. They hold associates accountable for in-store merchandising, lead selling programs, drive KPI results, and support the omni-channel experience. They develop associates' skills and foster a collaborative, motivated team.
New Hire Onboarding and Team Building- Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand team motivations and aspirations.
- Develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights.
- Perform 30‑60‑90‑day check‑ins with new team members to discuss progress and opportunities.
- Manage store staffing schedule, reconcile punches, and use Operations team tools.
- Ensure company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations are followed.
- Represent the Company brand in internal and external interactions.
- Follow procedures for product transfers to document inventory.
- Plan strategically and analyze reporting to determine staffing levels.
- Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers; act as subject matter expert.
- Analyze reporting to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching.
- Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
- Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
- Partner with marketing to plan and monitor assigned store’s social media strategy.
- Ensure timely opening and closing procedures.
- Manage stock inventory levels and review merchandise flow.
- Follow cash handling procedures including payment acceptance and deposit processes.
- Adhere to sales processing policies for customer invoicing.
- Stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
- Execute company initiatives and requested supervisor activities.
- Maintain awareness of competition, advertising, and services offered; develop counter strategies.
- Conduct store-level inventory processes and research discrepancies.
- Lift, push or pull 50+ pounds.

Competitive pay range of $71,000 - $82,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular time.
