Job Overview

Western States Fire Protection is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician. The ideal candidate is outgoing, highly self-motivated, and able to problem solve. They will have strong communication skills and a professional image, and be able to handle all aspects of a project from install to programming, with strong troubleshooting and service capabilities. The pay range is $20.00–$38.00 per hour depending on experience and licenses.

Job Responsibilities

  • Site verifications of fire alarm installations
  • Analysis of blueprints
  • Coordination with other disciplines, engineers, general contractors and end users
  • Interact with clients, field personnel and Fire Marshals
  • Installation of fire alarm equipment

Job Qualifications

  • NICET I certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year
  • OSHA 30 is a plus
  • Manufacturers certificates preferred
  • 5 years' service or install experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of NFPA 72, Factory Mutual and applicable codes
  • Ability to work independently and in team/training environments
  • Knowledge of programming and troubleshooting multiple fire alarm panel manufacturers
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of expenses and schedules
  • Valid driver's license; willing to travel within the state of Colorado
  • Willing to pass post-offer drug test, background and reference checks

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Regular bending, reaching, climbing and walking
