Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

As a Technician Trainee you will receive hands‑on classroom and field training to become a certified auto‑glass technician. After completing the program you will earn the Safelite Safe Tech certification and be ready to repair, replace, and recalibrate automotive glass systems independently.

• Complete safe, quality repairs and installations under supervision while acquiring skills in handling glass, detecting defects, and applying proper installation techniques.
• Assist in calibrating automotive safety systems, troubleshooting, and performing diagnostic testing.
• Proactively provide related services and product information to customers.
• Pass required tests to become a Safelite‑certified technician, demonstrating proficiency and a positive, customer‑focused attitude.
• Operate company and customer vehicles, tools, and chemicals safely throughout the day.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all company policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $21.25/hr, increasing to $25.25/hr after training and certification.
• Earn $5 per set of wiper blades sold.

• Paid training and all tools and resources needed for success.

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (preferred).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license (required).
• Must be 18 years of age or older (required).

• Regularly lift and carry up to 35 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, and bend and twist the body.
• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and agree to vehicle‑monitoring technology.
• Maintain professionalism with outstanding customer service.
• Work outside in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures as needed.
• Handle chemicals, including flammable types, as required.
• Adapt work schedule to meet customer needs.
• Use computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
• Read, write, and interpret English technical directions.
• Communicate orally (phone) and in writing (computer or other electronic media).
• Maintain a professional appearance in line with company dress code and PPE policies.
• Work effectively under pressure or opposition, including time‑pressure expectations.
