Accountant II

Location: Globe, AZ

Salary: $70,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually

Our clients Miami Smelter and Rod Plant is located approximately 90 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona. The facility processes copper concentrate primarily from the company's Arizona copper mines and serves as the largest source of sulfuric acid for North American leaching operations.

The Accountant II is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, analyzing financial and operational data, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with process improvements. This role works closely with site finance teams and management to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient accounting operations.

• Complete assigned duties as part of the accounting close process, including journal entry preparation, financial analysis, and collaboration with site finance groups.
• Apply accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze financial and operational data and communicate findings effectively and timely to management and site finance personnel.
• Perform account analyses and reconciliations through system queries, research, investigation, and resolution of reconciling items.
• Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies within the month-end close process.
• Develop practical recommendations to enhance accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
• Participate in special accounting projects and other assigned initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Applicants must meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:

• High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of professional accounting experience, including two (2) years of specialized training, certifications, instructed training, or on-the-job training in Accounting or Finance; OR
• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field and four (4) years of professional accounting experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and two (2) years of accounting experience; OR
• Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret financial information and communicate results effectively.
