Direct Support Professional - PRN

• High School diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, MVD report, and reliable transportation
• Ability to prepare required paperwork to support and document activities within contractually required timelines
• Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping
• Ability to successfully complete certification and trainings for First Aid, CPR, Article 9, Medication, and Prevention/Support, Direct Care Worker and any other required training – the agency will provide training if the candidate does not possess it
• Able to operate independently with minimal oversight
• Demonstrated skills to ensure respectful communication to participants and coworkers
• Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check along with Central Registry Clearance
• Willingness to work a flexible PRN schedule, including picking up shifts during the holiday season and working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Sign Language
• Prior experience in habilitation or rehabilitation
• Two years of experience in a person-centered community integration program assisting persons with developmental and/or psychiatric disabilities
• Two years of experience in habilitation/rehabilitative assistance to persons with psychiatric and/or developmental disabilities
• Very strong interpersonal skills
