Overview

Road Maintenance and Landfill Equipment Operator (Tonto Basin/Roads) role at Gila County. This position performs semi-skilled work in the construction, repair and maintenance of roads, right-of-ways, auxiliary structures, and secondary roads; operates various types of construction equipment in accordance with safety regulations and procedures. Ensures the safe operation of recycling and landfill; weighs vehicles, directs traffic and assists customers at the landfill.

Operates trucks, performs cleaning duties and trains new employees. The employee will be assigned to the Roads Division or the Recycling & Landfill Division and may be asked to work in either Division as required on a temporary basis.

• Perform semi-skilled work in the construction, repair and maintenance of roads, right-of-ways, auxiliary structures, and secondary roads.

• Ensure the safe operation of recycling and landfill activities; weigh vehicles, direct traffic and assist customers at the landfill.
