Management Accountant – Outskirts of Gloucester (3 Days On-site)

Manufacturing Environment
• Outskirts of Gloucester
• 6‑Month Contract

Operating within a fast‑paced production environment, the business is seeking an ambitious finance professional who can support operational decision‑making, enhance reporting processes, and provide high‑quality financial insight to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
  • Managing and supporting the month‑end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Producing insightful reporting packs with commentary on performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Delivering meaningful variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year performance.
  • Acting as a trusted finance business partner to operational and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Supporting capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
  • Maintaining strong balance sheet controls and supporting year‑end audit requirements.
  • Driving process improvements and helping develop reporting capabilities across the finance function.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will be a part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong management accounting experience gained within a fast‑paced commercial environment. Manufacturing or FMCG experience would be highly advantageous.

  • Strong month‑end accounting experience.
  • Experience producing management accounts and detailed variance analysis.
  • Budgeting and forecasting expertise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP or a similar platform.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.
