Overview
To provide reception and ward clerical support within the department and Administrative teams, liaising with patients, staff and other departments, both internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate the smooth running of the departments.

Key Responsibilities- Provide reception and ward clerical support within the department and Administrative teams.
- Liaise with patients, staff and other departments, both internal and external to the organisation, to facilitate the smooth running of the departments.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills for dealing with people internal and external to the organisation, for example patients, relatives and staff.
- Good organisational skills for prioritisation of own work.
- A professional telephone manner for dealing with patient queries and liaising with Health Professionals both internal and external to the organisation.
- Empathy and compassionate approach to dealing with patients and relatives who may be distressed, worried or angry, on the telephone or face to face.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as a team and to provide cover for colleagues during absences.
- Basic understanding of the common office computer software to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Previous administrative experience or experience of working within a hospital/medical setting.
