Overview
Senior Business Support Officer needed
Hourly Rate: 15.38ph
Contract Duration: Until September 2026
Location: Bristol, BS1
About the Role
As a senior business support officer, you will work as part of a business support team, collaborating with team colleagues, social workers and managers.
Responsibilities- Take telephone calls and triage emails on duty and from shared mailboxes on a daily basis.
- Process reference requests and DBS checks for prospective carers, including chasing and following up the return of references.
- Handle references received from individuals, GPs, schools, organisations, and employers.
- Process GP invoices for payment on receipt of the medical report.
- Attend meetings (in person or online), take notes, and record information accurately.
- Circulate notes to attendees and add notes to records in the database.
- Assist with Adoption file requests and viewing of information.
- Support colleagues across all work streams as directed and needed.
- Liaise with internal and external colleagues as required.
- Take ownership of daily tasks, processing information in line with GDPR to meet deadlines.
- This is a busy and fast-paced role, supporting multiple work streams across the team.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle personal confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience attending meetings, taking notes, and circulating notes to attendees.
- Experience using a database to search, add, and retrieve information.
- Experience using Office 365, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Confident user of SharePoint for saving, sharing and retrieving documents.
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and GDPR policies and procedures.
- Good communication skills with internal and external colleagues and organisations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to support across all work areas as needed.
