We are looking for an Administration & Clerical Assistant to provide a comprehensive administration and clerical service for the Dietetic Department. This post also involves maintaining an effective front line administrative service to manage patient contacts and appointments.
Our administration team underpins the success, efficiency and effectiveness of the Dietetics Team and reflects the professional ethos of the service. This role provides a great opportunity to develop your administration skills and to join our large, friendly department.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will provide an efficient, confidential and professional administration & clerical service to the Nutrition & Dietetic Department. This will include secretarial support to enable provision of patient care and speciality services.
We are looking for good communication and organisational skills, ability to multi-task and someone who is proactive in supporting the delivery of a quality service. You will be motivated in assisting the Administration & Clerical team in achieving their aims by maximising productivity to deliver on targets and respond to the changing demands of the Nutrition & Dietetics Service.
You will need to work flexibly as part of a team and liaise with professionals at all levels. There may be a requirement for cross site working in order to meet the demands of the role.

Job responsibilitiesYou will:
- be supporting delivery of a consistent and effective administration/clerical service, demonstrating time management and prioritisation skills.
- need a comprehensive understanding of hospital patient systems (Trak, E-Referral, Infoflex) or a high level of knowledge and skills of non-healthcare administration systems.
- demonstrate previous admin & clerical experience
- book patient appointments efficiently, in line with guidelines to optimise clinics
- work flexibly to ensure that administration work is performed to a high standard and in line with changing priorities
- have good communication skills and be able to liaise effectively and efficiently with patients and Healthcare workers

Person Specification Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience- Educated to GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages including databases
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a good command and understanding of English, punctuation and grammar
- Flexible team worker with ability to act to changing needs of the service
- Familiar with electronic/patient systems e.g. Trak/EPR
