MOT Technician

We are seeking an experienced MOT Technician to join our client's busy automotive centre in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to develop their career within a reputable company dedicated to quality service and customer satisfaction.

Our client, a prominent automotive service centre and tyre retailer with multiple locations nationwide, is currently recruiting for a MOT Technician to join their team in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in accordance with Ministry standards, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing repairs and servicing as needed. The role requires a proactive and customer-focused approach, with flexibility to assist front-of-house duties when necessary.

42.5-hour weekly schedule, working from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, with 1 in 2 Saturdays, 8:30am to 4:00pmDuties of a MOT Technician:

Performing MOT tests in line with Ministry standards
Diagnosing vehicle faults and carrying out repairs and servicing
Maintaining high standards of workmanship within specified time frames
Assisting at the front reception with customer inquiries when necessary
Supporting workshop team to ensure smooth operational workflow
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

Proven experience as a MOT Technician
Valid MOT licence and UK driving licence held for a minimum of 6 months with minimal points
Significant workshop experience, either through employment or apprenticeship
Ability to produce high-quality work efficiently
Friendly and approachable manner, with excellent communication skills
