Job Description

Design, Process & Compliance

Collaborate with pre‑construction teams to identify and manage HSQE risks at the earliest stage, ensuring full compliance with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and CDM 2015.

Partner with colleagues across estimating, design, and delivery teams to embed and uphold Barnwood’s established HSQE processes.

Ensure that safety systems and environmental considerations are thoroughly assessed, mitigated where possible, and accurately costed during project planning.

Provide clear, practical guidance on Safe Systems of Work, including Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans.

Champion a consistent and proactive approach to HSQE standards across every stage of the project lifecycle.

Coach and support Site Managers, Contracts Managers, and wider teams to enhance their understanding and practical application of HSQE principles throughout every stage of project delivery.

Lead by example to inspire a positive, proactive safety culture, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Deliver engaging training and clear guidance on Barnwood’s internal processes, regulatory compliance, and sustainability standards, helping teams to confidently apply best practice on every project.

Undertake site inspections and actively contribute to lessons learned reviews and ongoing improvement initiatives.

Evaluate and trial innovative sustainable products, sharing insights and feedback with the wider team to support Barnwood’s sustainability goals.

Represent Barnwood at client safety meetings and industry forums, promoting our commitment to excellence in health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to sites as required.

Recognised HSQE qualification, such as NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

IOSH membership is desirable. If not already held, Barnwood will provide support, guidance, and coaching to help you achieve membership and grow your professional credentials.

Passion for sustainability and continuous improvement, with a drive to make a real impact on both safety and environmental performance across our projects.
