The Opportunity

Ward Williams Associates are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Gloucester team, supporting the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Project Manager with experience delivering complex civil engineering schemes on behalf of public and private sector clients. You will provide strategic and hands-on project management support from early feasibility and procurement through to construction and completion.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary consultancy, you will coordinate clients, designers, engineers, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, budget and quality expectations.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

* Leading civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion

* Acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery

* Coordinating civil engineers, designers, consultants, contractors and external stakeholders

* Developing project briefs, programmes, delivery strategies and governance procedures

* Monitoring project progress, budgets, risks and key milestones

* Managing procurement processes and advising clients on appropriate delivery routes

* Supporting tender processes, contractor appointments and contract administration

* Chairing project, design, progress and stakeholder meetings

* Managing project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation measures

* Overseeing the delivery of highways, drainage, utilities, earthworks, infrastructure or public realm works

* Ensuring projects comply with relevant contractual, technical and regulatory requirements

* Producing clear progress reports and presenting project information to clients

* Supporting junior Project Managers and contributing to wider team development

* Identifying opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and secure repeat work

About You

* Previous experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within a consultancy, client-side organisation or civil engineering environment

* Strong experience delivering civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities-related projects

* Experience working across highways, drainage, earthworks, public realm, utilities or associated infrastructure would be advantageous

* Strong understanding of project governance, programme management and risk control

* Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams

* Knowledge of NEC contracts would be highly advantageous

* Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills

* Excellent communication, organisation and leadership abilities

* Degree qualified in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline

* MAPM, MRICS, MICE or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous

* Full UK driving licence
