We wish to appoint a new Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+) colleague to join our expanding Acute Medicine service at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).

Main duties of the jobPost is based on our Acute Medical Units and offers experience in all aspects of acute medicine including Same Day Emergency Care. We see a wide range of conditions, offering exposure to Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly and Stroke. Excellent in‑reach from the specialties.
The post will also include full on calls on the medical SpR rota.
Person Specification Qualifications- Full General Medical Council registration.
- MRCP (or equivalent)
- ALS or Equivalent
- Point of care ultrasound
- Peer reviewed publications
- Proven procedural competence in line with IMT3 curriculum
- Experience in independently managing medical admissions - running the acute unselected take
- Ability to work closely with colleagues in Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine and other specialties
- Experience of MDT working including complex discharge planning
- Independent in the following procedures:
Lumbar Puncture, Seldinger Chest Drains and Ascitic Drains - Experience of working in Same Day Emergency Care
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Familiar with clinical governance
- Willingness to accept responsibility and provide leadership
- Experience of clinical governance e.g., Quality improvement, Audit, M&M review
- Experience of service development
- Awareness of current relevant developments within the wider NHS
