Qualifications
- Hold a recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject teaching qualification (QTS).
- Commitment to own self development.
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Willingness to undertake further CPD.
- Ability to teach your subject area up to Key Stage 4
- Desire to further raise overall achievement in your subject that seeks to promote the highest standards of teaching and learning
- A flexible approach to the teaching of your subject that seeks to promote the learning opportunities of all students and to secure the highest possible outcomes
- Good discipline / classroom management.
- Commitment to working within the School’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
- Commitment to high standards and expectations.
- High levels of professional integrity.
- Demonstrate a commitment to following the school’s principles of teaching, learning and assessment
- Evidence of wider professional development and wider educational contemporary issues
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Excellent communicator – sensitive, compassionate and effective
- Knowledge of strategies to inspire and improve outcomes for students
- Outstanding organisational skills to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the role
- Knowledge of strategies to recognise and reward efforts and achievements and the ability to encourage students to become self-reliant and independent learners
- Understanding of Exam Board specifications
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching your subject
- Detailed knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical developments in the teaching of your subject and the wider curriculum
We are looking for a Head of Maths to lead our dedicated Maths department. The role would suit either an existing head of faculty or those who are looking to develop from a Second in Maths/ Lead practitioner or Head of Subject.

As the Head of Maths you will lead a diverse team of seven, from those that are very experienced to others that are embarking on their first Teach First training. Together the team is passionate about giving our students the best chances in life, and all actively engage in Improving themselves as teachers through weekly PD sessions, subject knowledge enhancements, online courses, and exam conferences.
