Position: Teacher of Mathematics (0.6 - Full time)

What skills and experience we're looking for

Our Maths department has exceptional expertise, consequently we are able to be flexible in whether we appoint an ECT, an experienced teacher or an aspirant Subject Leader looking for a second in department role. To be clear, we are advertising for either a Maths teacher or a Second in department.

Job Description

Reports to: Senior Leader with responsibility for subject

Responsible for: The learning experience and support for students

Grade: MS/UPS

Overall purpose of the job

Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students at KS3, GCSE and A Level accordance with the aims and objectives of the school. Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential. Contribute to raising standards of student progress and achievement in the department/tutor group. Be responsible for raising standards of student progress and achievement of their classes.

Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth. Do their job to the best of their ability and in accordance with the teaching standards associated with their pay band.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post Teaching
  • To follow the school’s Feedback policy and use feedback to inform planning
  • To teach students according to their educational needs based upon rigorous and regular assessment
  • To assess in accordance with school policy, record and report on the attendance, progress and development of students and to keep such records as are required
  • To ensure that enjoyment, ICT, Literacy, Numeracy and school development priorities are reflected in the teaching and learning experience of students
