The Role – Year 2 Teacher

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing pupils for the transition into Key Stage 2. You will support children in consolidating their skills in literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum areas, while nurturing confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

The successful Year 2 Teacher will deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons, assess pupil progress effectively, and provide targeted support to ensure every child reaches their full potential. What We’re Looking For in a Year 2 Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A motivated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Experience delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, including support for pupils with SEND
  • High expectations for behaviour, achievement, and pupil progress
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A reflective and adaptable approach to teaching

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively
  • Identify and address gaps in learning
