Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist provision in Bristol. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
, helping them overcome barriers and succeed both academically and personally.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth work, behaviour support, mental health, or alternative education
.

• Support students with SEMH needs 1:1 and in small groups
• Help deliver tailored learning and behaviour support plans
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to maintain a safe learning environment
• Encourage confidence, resilience, and social development

• Specialist provision supporting pupils with additional needs
• Small class sizes and strong staff-to-student ratios
• Focus on nurture, structure, and emotional development
• Supportive and experienced team environment

• Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, sports coaching, etc.)
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification OR willingness to work towards this with support
• Calm, patient, and resilient personality
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  
  A genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
