We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with autism and special educational needs.
In this rewarding role, you will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to individual needs, supporting pupils to make excellent progress both academically and through therapeutic interventions. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment, working closely with colleagues, therapists, and families to ensure every pupil thrives.
About the role
- Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons that meet diverse learning needs
- Supporting pupils with autism through specialist teaching strategies and interventions
- Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes
- Working collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, therapists, and families
- Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can succeed
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
- Taking part in wider school life, including meetings, activities, and events
- Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, behaviour, and progress tracking
We are looking for a professional who:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND and/or autism
- Proven ability to engage learners and drive progress
- Strong understanding of assessment and tracking systems
- Knowledge of autism support strategies and interventions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
About the School
Gloucestershire Academy for Inspirational Learning is a specialist school for 200 pupils aged 4-16 opening at the start of 2027, with pupils phasing into the school across three years.
The school’s designation is Moderate and Additional Learning Difficulties (MALD) and will cater for autistic pupils, those with speech and language differences, SEMH and those with learning differences in their cognitive profiles.
The school will be based in the Wheat ridge area of Gloucestershire in a brand-new purpose-built building with outstanding facilities specifically tailored for SEND learners.
