Teaching Assistant

Heron Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, caring & enthusiastic Teaching Assistant.

The successful candidate will be supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, working with pupils in the class and in small groups. Experience of working in a primary school setting is preferable. Applicants should demonstrate a positive and sensitive approach that puts the needs of the child first, strong interpersonal skills, ability to show initiative and a clear understanding of the ways in which children learn successfully.

Experience of behaviour modelling and behaviour management strategies would also be an advantage.

Hours of work are 8:30–3:15, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a half–hour unpaid lunch.

The role includes a half‑hour lunch cover, either outside supervising OPAL or in the dinner hall, as needs dictate. This half hour will be paid on a Grade 2.

We take up two references prior to interview and all appointments are subject to a police check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced DBS check is required for this post prior to commencement.
