Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join a specialist provision in Gloucester, supporting pupils aged 8–16 across three dedicated sites.

About the Role

You will be working within a nurturing and supportive environment designed to help students who experience anxiety around attending school. The provision is split across three sites:

Primary provision (ages 8–11)
Secondary provision (ages 11–16)
Girls’ provision
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with learning and develop confidence in a safe and structured setting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Help students regulate emotions and build positive relationships
Support the delivery of tailored learning activities
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
Promote a calm, consistent, and supportive environment
Requirements

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
Full UK driving licence (essential) – you will be required to drive school vehicles to transport students between locations
No Level 3 qualification? The school is happy to support the right candidates in gaining this qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
