Job Summary

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic SENCo to join our existing inclusion team at Gloucester Academy on a full‑time basis. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher who shares our values of ambition, excellence and pride, has previous experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Qualified Teacher Status.

They will lead, inspire and support both students and staff while fostering inclusive education and continuous professional development.

• Provide strategic oversight of inclusive provision and lead on Key Stage 3 or 4 intervention
• Lead the identification, monitoring and review of SEND provision across the school
• Work closely with staff to develop effective teaching strategies and support plans
• Liaise with parents, external agencies and the local authority to coordinate support
• Lead EHCP reviews and contribute to statutory processes
• Line‑manage teaching assistants and support staff development
• Champion inclusion and promote high expectations for all learners
• Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Qualified Teacher Status and substantial experience working with learners who have special educational needs. Demonstrable understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and a proven track record in leading inclusive provision.
