We are recruiting experienced Safeguarding Leads to provide cover support across education provisions in Gloucester starting this September.

This role involves taking responsibility for all safeguarding matters during your placement, ensuring concerns are managed appropriately and in line with current legislation. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive environment for learners and staff alike.

• Take ownership of safeguarding and child protection across the setting
• Act as the designated point of contact for all safeguarding concerns
• Handle disclosures and referrals in line with statutory guidance
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential safeguarding records
• Work with external professionals such as social services and local agencies
• Offer advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding procedures
• Embed a strong safeguarding culture throughout the setting
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies at all times

• In‑depth understanding of current safeguarding legislation and guidance
• Proven ability to manage safeguarding cases confidently and professionally
• Strong communication skills, with a calm and measured approach
• Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
• Resilient and able to deal with sensitive situations effectively
• Dependable, flexible, and suited to the demands of supply work
• Ability to build positive and professional relationships across teams
• Passion for safeguarding and promoting learner wellbeing

• Previous experience as a DSL, Deputy DSL, Safeguarding Manager, or similar leadership position is essential
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice
• Safeguarding training (Level 3 or equivalent) is advantageous
• Experience working within an education setting is beneficial
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to complete all necessary compliance and safeguarding checks
