Key Stage 3 & 4 Teaching Assistant
Location: Gloucester
Salary: 90 - 115 per day (Holiday Pay - 12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot)
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

About the Role

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming Alternative ProvisionS in Gloucester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who benefit from additional guidance, encouragement, and tailored support throughout the school day.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to help students engage with learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships. Every day is different, making this an ideal role for someone who is adaptable, resilient, and committed to supporting young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support KS3 and KS4 students throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning.

  • Assist with off-site educational activities and trips where required.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, supportive learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.

  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions around student progress and wellbeing.

  • Liaise with parents and carers when appropriate.

Requirements
  • At least 30 days' experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.

  • Experience supporting students with additional needs or challenging behaviour is desirable.

  • No formal qualifications are required-your experience, enthusiasm, and commitment are what matter most.

  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
