About the roleGloucester Academy for Inspirational Learning (GAIL) is looking for a dedicated and caring Pupil Coach (SEN Teaching Assistant) to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you will provide tailored support to pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You'll play a key role in creating a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment, helping pupils access the curriculum and reach their individual goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with learning, social and emotional needs.
- Assisting teachers in the delivery of engaging learning activities.
- Helping to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and personal care programmes.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and self-esteem.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress.
- Supporting pupil wellbeing, welfare and first aid needs when required.
- Supervising pupils during lunchtimes, educational visits and wider school activities.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

Gloucestershire Academy for Inspirational Learning is a specialist school for 200 pupils aged 4-16 opening at the start of 2027, with pupils phasing into the school across three years.
The school’s designation is Moderate and Additional Learning Difficulties (MALD) and will cater for autistic pupils, those with speech and language differences, SEMH and those with learning differences in their cognitive profiles.
The school will be based in the Wheat ridge area of Gloucestershire in a brand-new purpose-built building with outstanding facilities specifically tailored for SEND learners.
