Education Programme Officer Salary: £31,443 per annum, plus pension and benefits
Location:
London office, with frequent travel across London
Hours:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract:
Permanent An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. About the role You will coordinate and deliver an established education programme across schools, colleges and youth settings throughout London. The programme uses creative workshops to explore youth homelessness and related issues, including healthy relationships and conflict management. Working with young people aged 11 to 18, you will deliver assemblies, classroom workshops and targeted small-group sessions.
You will also provide training to teachers and other professionals working with young people. Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the education programme across London Delivering engaging workshops and presentations in person and virtually Building long-term partnerships with schools, colleges and youth organisations Promoting the programme, generating income and achieving agreed delivery targets Developing and updating educational resources, lesson plans and workshop content Creating clear referral routes into relevant support services Monitoring and evaluating the programme’s reach and impact Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers Maintaining accurate records and keeping the programme database up to date The role involves frequent independent travel across London, occasional national travel and some out-of-hours work, with time off in lieu provided.
About you You will be confident working with children, young people and professionals, with the ability to build rapport, manage behaviour and approach sensitive subjects appropriately. You will have experience of delivering presentations, workshops or training to groups and developing high-quality educational resources for children and young people. You will also bring:
Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills
Experience of building productive relationships with education partners and other stakeholders An understanding of target-driven working, marketing or income generation An interest in the issues affecting young people, including homelessness, relationships and risk-taking Excellent organisation and administration skills The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Strong digital and IT skills, including experience of creating digital content About the organisation You will be joining a national charity that supports young people and adults who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
