  • Supervise workshop practicals, ensuring students operate hand tools, machinery, and equipment safely in full compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist pupils with CAD/CAM tasks, design ideas, technical drawing, and prototyping evaluations
  • Maintain tight classroom control and equipment vigilance in workshops, computer labs, and food rooms
  • Complete electronic attendance registers accurately at the start of each period
  • Leave structured written feedback and handover notes for returning departmental staff
What’s on Offer
  • Total Schedule Control: Choose the specific days and local Gloucester/Gloucestershire areas you wish to work
  • Competitive Pay: Paid weekly via PAYE on market-leading daily supply rates
  • Zero Admin: No planning, marking, or departmental meetings required
  • Variety: Experience diverse learning environments across state academies, grammar schools, and faith settings across Gloucester
  • Long-Term Potential: Opportunity to transition into short-term block bookings or fixed-term positions if desired
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK equivalent (ECTs, Experienced Teachers, and FE/vocational specialists welcome)
  • Honors degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field
  • Up-to-date awareness of secondary workshop health, safety, and machinery protocols (DATA/CLEAPSS training advantageous)
  • Strong classroom management and practical group supervision abilities
  • An active DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
