Whether you already have experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Classroom Assistant
, or you have worked with children through childcare, care, youth work, sports or coaching, we would like to hear from you.
Immediate Start
The Teaching Assistant RoleAs a Teaching Assistant
, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support pupils in the classroom. Depending on the school and your experience, this could include working with pupils who have SEN, SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, learning difficulties or behavioural needs
.
You could be involved in:
- Supporting pupils individually or in small groups
- Helping children access their learning and complete classroom activities
- Providing additional support to pupils who need extra encouragement
- Helping manage behaviour and promote positive routines
- Supporting social, emotional and communication development
- Building positive relationships with pupils
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams
- Helping create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
We're interested in hearing from people who are:
- Patient, approachable and reliable
- Confident working with children and young people
- Able to build positive relationships
- Calm and consistent when managing behaviour
- Good communicators and comfortable working as part of a team
- Interested in working with pupils with additional needs
- Experienced in education, childcare, care, youth work, coaching or mentoring — desirable but not essential
Previous school experience is helpful, but full training and support are available for candidates with the right attitude and transferable experience.
You will need an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one, alongside suitable references and the required safeguarding checks.
