Role Overview
As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic you’ll provide the adaptability the RAC needs. You’ll work an average of 40 hours per week across the year, with your roster released seven days in advance and core working hours confirmed three days prior.
Shifts run between 06:00 and 02:00 and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. You’ll manage your own kit, keep your van stocked, handle your reports with precision, and read each call‑out situation to decide the best fix. You’ll support members and keep everyone moving on the roadside.
Where you’ll workYou will be based in the Swindon cluster covering Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, Cirencester, and Chippenham (west). Work is organised locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.
What you’ll need- A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
- A customer‑focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work on relatively short notice and open to travel with overnight stays if necessary.
