Circa £2m per annum
Working Pattern: 60‑70% office based
An established infrastructure services provider is seeking a Civil Engineer or early‑career professional looking to step into a Structures Supervisor/Engineer role within a long‑term highways and infrastructure contract. This is an excellent opportunity to move from design and theory into hands‑on project delivery, working across the full lifecycle of structures and maintenance schemes for a major local authority client.
The RoleYou will support and supervise structures and maintenance works from design through to on‑site construction, playing a key role in planning, safety, stakeholder liaison, and commercial control. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and Gloucestershire County Council, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities- Organise and manage construction and maintenance works from design through to delivery
- Develop and implement project plans aligned with client and regulatory requirements
- Champion health, safety and environmental standards across all sites
- Carry out inspections, risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Act as a key point of contact with Gloucestershire County Council
- Coordinate with designers, contractors and suppliers to meet programme requirements
- Manage material orders and ensure timely delivery to site
- Accurately record costs and claim value for completed works under the maintenance term contract
- Participation in winter service supervision and out‑of‑hours standby rota
- Rota basis
- Weekly standby payment
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Strong understanding of construction and maintenance processes
- High attention to detail with a strong to health and safety
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to coordinate multiple work streams
- A graduate or early‑career engineer keen to progress into a supervisory role and gain hands‑on project management experience
- Clear development pathway into project and contract management
- Exposure to live infrastructure works and local authority clients
