Site Engineer

A civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support a major highways project. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment and is confident balancing handson engineering with a strong emphasis on quality assurance.
You'll be joining a high performing team delivering complex works, with the autonomy to take ownership of QA processes while still remaining active on site.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and manage QA documentation, inspections, and compliance checks

· Ensure works meet specification, standards, and client requirements

· Maintain ITPs, check sheets, NCRs, and associated records

· Liaise with the client, subcontractors, and internal teams on quality matters

· Support audits and ensure robust quality processes are followed

· Setting out for highways works

· Conducting surveys, asbuilt records, and site measurements

· Supporting site teams with technical queries

· Ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently
Requirements

· Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civils projects

· Strong background in QA and documentation

· Proficient with setting out equipment and software

· Ability to work independently and manage priorities

· Available to start immediately

· Eligible to work via LTD or CIS
